They had known each other since sixth grade, been together since high school, and finally made it official in May 2010. This wedding was about more then two people joining together, it was about two family's finally making their bond official. The ceremony and party took place in the brides family home, the napkin holders and runners were made by the bride and her mother, and an aunt officiated the ceremony. It was truly a family affair, and the love felt for these two amazing people was evident in every detail of this beautiful wedding.

By far one of my favorite weddings, Lina was a bride with an elegant romantic vision for her wedding. The soft delicate flowers from her bouquet complimented her antique wedding dress, and bright bouquets carried by the bridesmaids added pops of color to the wedding party. This wedding was the definition of simple elegance.

When Debi told me she wanted fall colors, and then set me free I was super excited. I love how the colors of the flowers change and fade at the centers, adding drama and movement. These are definitely some of my favorites.

Aaron and Desiree, July 2009

Aaron and Desiree got married in in Colorado June of 2009. After the wedding, they had a reception in Aaron's hometown of Escondido, and I had the pleasure of decorating the tables. For centerpieces, Aaron's fathers cheesecakes were the focus, so I adorned the cake stands with flowers, and used different flowers around the room to add extra pops of color.

In May of this year I got the pleasure of doing the flowers for the marriage of Chris Riley and Jana Botica. They had a beautiful outdoor wedding and the flowers were subtle and elegant.

I had an awesome opportunity to do the flowers for my cousin's wedding, and it was so fun. The main visual theme of their wedding was bamboo, and they used purple as a lovely compliment to the greens. Enjoy.

The center pieces were a combination of three small arrangements. To the sides of the center vase were short vases filled with herbs, anenomes, and sweet peas. The taller vases had bamboo from my cousin's house, and a purple orchid, in the base of the vase I used a bear grass that had purple stripes that almost looked painted on, it all worked together beautifully.

Toss bouquet made of white roses, purple button mums, purple ranunculus, berries, and some fun lime greeneries. it was really fun.

I got the opportunity to play with some of the left over flowers to make arrangements around the room, and they ended up being really cute, and adding a lot of life to the room.

Jason and French Renew Vows

After ten years of marriage, two amazing daughters, and one horrific motorcycle accident later, my cousin Jason and his wife French got married again. In the past, I was skeptical of the "renewal" idea, but after this wedding, I am a true believer. This wedding stands out as one of the truest examples of what true love is. If after ten years, and some very hard times, you can stand together and continue to pledge your lives to each other, you know its real. (and yes I too can be a sap sometimes)

Because of the understated nature of the event, they only needed bouquets for my cousin and her daughters. The wedding attire was accented mostly in pink, with a little bit of orange, so to construct the bouquet's, I used primarily green button mums, and pink roses, accenting with orange berries and some amazing roses that faded orange to pink.
Overall, I really appreciated the opportunity to be part of their wedding, and I think that I learned a lot from the experience.

Cole and Steve's wedding

I Have been very lucky in getting started with this whole adventure. Right off the bat I had a friend allow me to do the flowers for her wedding, it was amazing. Her wedding had what I called a nineteen fourty's French countryside with a modern twist feel, so I was allowed to have a lot of fun. Her main colors were yellow and blue, so we ended up using patterned table squares in blues and yellow with three sizes of cobalt blue vases with yellow flowers. May sound crazy busy, but it ended up looking really cool.

For the bridesmaid bouquets we used Yellow flowers with patterned blue ribbon, and they really popped against our blue dresses. The brides bouquet was probably my favorite part. We used very delicate looking white flowers (that were amazingly durable) and worked in a few peacock feathers that matched the French veil that Christina made her.
She looked amazing, and it was one of the most enjoyable weddings I have ever been a part of. (as both florist and bridesmaid, it was quite a day!)
